    @steve108.

    A Windows update yesterday did stuff up the taskbar calendar, it wouldn't come up when click on. I had to do a reset. Also if I remember correctly I had two attempts to add the recycle bin icon to my taskbar, the first instance failed.
    The Adobe Acrobat Reader report could support that.

    Anyway I'll keep you posted if something goes pear shape.

    You had to do a Windows Reset? Did you lose files or app? I've had to do an in-place upgrade a few times where I got to choose to keep files and apps and fortunately didn't lose anything.

    Do you know about Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect ? It's my new best friend. Takes the risk out of Windows Upgrades as I can restore my boot drive in about 30 minutes.

    1: No windows reset that would have made my dayJust a Calendar reset.

    2: Macrium and the like apps, I can't get my head around those. I Do all my back ups manually in an external hard disk. No sweat I 'am a pensioner, plenty of time. In Italy there is a say: 'chi non ha cervello ha gambe' rough translation, 'he who has no brain has legs'

    1. Very good that it was just an app reset.
    2. We can help you, but first tell me how you make backups now. What app or software do you use? Windows Backup is deprecated if you're using that.

    The backup with MR will make a full image of your boot drive and other drives too if you like. Then if you need to restore your boot drive, it will look identical to when you made the image - same OS version, same files, etc.

    @steve108,
    I truly appreciate your offer of help, but others did that in the past. As for most of things I am self thought knowing a bit of everything but never enough. Now I 'm a classic case of 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
    Still typing whit one finger after more than 20 years using the computer.
    Don't mind if I decline. It is not personal.

    BTW sorry I did no sign the answer to your PM, I was too quick posting. I will next time.

    You're most welcome. We're here to help if you need anything else or what to purse MR in the future. I understand the feeling of being overwhelmed and not wanting to learn new tricks, so no worries . Take care and see you anytime you need help here.
