    search results to be in DETAILS view

    When I do a search, I want the results to be in DETAILS view instead of CONTENT view. How to make the change so that results always come up in details view? Win 10

    Hi, if you search tenforums you will find this discussed. I don't recall the outcome, so please feel free to have a look:

    I looked into this and I think I found the solution but have not yet made the time to get the whole job done.

    If you just mean exactly what you said and will be satisfied with them being in Details view [with the default set of folders displayed] then all you need to do is this -
    Change Search Results Default View - Ramesh Srinivasan

    These are the links I saved that I think tell me how to set up specific folders in the search results view but they take quite a bit of studying
    Customize File Explorer Search Default Columns- TenForums

    In order for this patch to work, you must first set all folders to view as details. If you don't want that, then ignore this post.

    First: Change Folder Template in Windows 10 | Tutorials
    And then you save the following in a text file, and change the text file extension into a "reg" file extension & apply it:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    ; Sets Details view as default search results view for Generic folders.
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell\{7fde1a1e-8b31-49a5-93b8-6be14cfa4943}]
    "LogicalViewMode"=dword:00000001
    "Mode"=dword:00000004

    What does that code do? It appears to be a direct copy of part, but not all, of Change Search Results Default View - Ramesh Srinivasan
