What is this LOCK icon in my system tray

I noticed this icon in my system tray a few weeks back but if I place my mouse cursor on it or double click it it automatically disappears (please refer to the screenshot the lock icon outlined by black marker)

Can anyone please help me identify what it is.

I am using Windows 10 Pro Version 1809 (OS Build 17763.577)

    Thanks.

Are you using Firefox or another Mozilla Product?
If you are this lock indicated whether you are visiting secure, unsecured sites . . .etc.
It should change color depending on whether you are visiting http or https websites

Could it be this: Golden lock at windows 10 notification system

Apparently it is generated when the security log (event log) is full.

What is this LOCK icon in my system tray-1.png - found this, but appears to be pre-Win 10. Has a helpful toast notification though! And suggests the same thing.

    Action suggested:
Fix: The Security Log is Full – Windows Auditing

Same reported here, Win 10, and similarly disappears as reported- no message. Thread offers nothing helpful

Confirmed. I set the Security event log to 'Do not overwrite events'....

...and soon got the notification and the taskbar padlock.

Also, standard users could no longer sign in.

Fixed by setting the Security log back to 'Overwrite events as needed (oldest events first)' (2004 Home)

This is not the case I do not get the Auditing log if full error its not that its just a golden lockpad icon even if I hover upon it no dialogue box opens up to indicate what it is and if I double click it simply dissappears.

That notification only appeared briefly when the padlock first appeared, after that the padlock behaved as you describe. Have you opened Event Viewer and checked the properties of the Security log? What does it say for the maximum and the current log size? What are the settings for overwriting?

    FYI:

4 Ways to Find Out What Programs are Running in the Windows System Tray • Raymond.CC

    From my machine:

What is this LOCK icon in my system tray-tray.jpg

    Portable:

Download AnVir Task Manager Free - MajorGeeks

If you're going to test that avoid downloading from the manufacturer's site.

    EDIT:

You would need the portable version. Just checked and the portable version is a zip file that can actually be downloaded from author's site. (Second link)

Some AV's won't like it. See Post #10.

The portable version does not come bundled with anything. The installed version probably does have bundled PUP's.

Also "System Tray Cleaner" as mentioned in the link is no longer maintained or supported.

Looks like a handy program to have. For some reason ESET won't let me download it from MajorGeeks.

    ESET will not like it:

Anvir Task Manager Review - gHacks Tech News

However - there is nothing dodgy in the portable version. If ESET blacklisted it then I suppose that you cannot run it.
