Hello from me too. I've been using Windows 10 since its start, but I took a peculiar trip through Microsoft OSes. I went from 95 to XP and then straight to 10, bypassing all versions between those 3. I had no need to jump from one version to the next, since whatever version I used served its purpose admirably and I had no problem. Linux OSes are another tale to tell.
I switched to 10 mainly because I upgraded my hardware too, moving from a rather "work-related" machine to 2 gaming rigs, one laptop I use as a docking station for work and gaming, and a "beast" PC I use for gaming.
I've actually never had any serious OS problems, just uncomfortable and finicky situations with software and hardware. I hope that stays as long as I use a PC.
Welcome to Ten Forums.
My journey was similar with 'skips' along the way, though I started earlier with Windows 3.1. In my '95' period I also used (and provided support for) Windows NT4 (desktops and servers). Skipped to XP then, when that laptop died, replaced it with a 2nd hand W7 laptop (new machines were all W8 by then and I didn't fancy getting used to something that different).
That W7 laptop got the free upgrade to W10 at launch and is System One in my specs below.

No, I can't say I have either. But should you (or I) have any in the future it's good to be part of this site. The breadth of experience and the amount of support available here is outstanding
Hi people. I am GaryM. Retired from weather and climatology where I always had people to sort out computer problems. I don't have them anymore. Hope you can help me with some issues. Cheers

I'm writing from my tablet because my laptop won't start. This morning I got a message saying there were updated and the computer needed rebooting. That normally takes just a few seconds so I clicked on restart. That was 3 hours ago and it is still trying to restart. The screen is blue, it says Restarting, the 6 balls are spinning, I could booted it a few times even waiting 10 - 15 minutes to push start, and it still stuck on restarting. Help.
