Google pixel phone widgets
Havw just had an update to my Google Pixel 4XL and now I cannot delete widgets from the different screens or even move them around for that matter .
Any ideas please - I have Googled this issue but what it says doesn't work.

Yes mate and it makes no difference on my 'home' screen if I move a widget to a different position it just leave a duplicate of it's usual spot. The removal of widgets is also complicated now too in that you need to (if you can) move it to another panel and then remove it from there but the original stays put.
I think the update has really messed up what is the best phone I have had. I" ll have to ask my son to have a look at it as he is a bit more savvy than me.

If you click on Settings and near the bottom, click on "About phone" you will see Android version.

It's build 11 but my problem is now it has a mind of it's own by not letting me delete widgets from my home screen apart from the ones I want or even generally move them around.
That help centre I cannot find any way to register either .

Is your home screen locked?
Long press an empty area to get 'Preferences' then see if home screen is locked.

Hmm tried that Edwin and 'preferences don't come up - all I get is a small grrey square with Styles and wallpapers / Widgets/ Home settings in it .
