Could do it by creating a new Admin id with a password. Not one you normally use, just create it for this one task.
Correct. You can use any password protected administrator account.

Automatically Shut Down Computer at Scheduled Time in Windows 10
Do you want a batch script that will do everything automatically? I can try to write it.

Thanks for asking Matthew Wai, but I will see if all goes well tonight. I added a account with password and told it to wake up computer if sleeping to run the task. I could even hide the account so kids don't get confused.

Thank you Matthew. Sure, that would be great if you would like to post it in the tutorial. I'll add it as an option.

Not sure what I did wrong but it did not shut down last night. Something about denied task? I had a password on a account, was log off that account and computer was sleeping. I did all the steps in the tutorial, I did hide the account on the log in screen. Will try a figure out what when wrong tonight.

How did you hide the account?

Often hiding the account will also disable it. Disabling the account would effectively also disable the task since the account is not available while disabled.

Your kids cannot disable/delete/edit the task unless they have your password.

Was trying to do this on my daughters computer, had to return home today so it will be couple weeks before I can try again. When I got home I tried the same stuff on my computer and all worked? I had no problems, the other account was hidden on log on that controls the task and was log out.One thing I did notice is my computer shut down all fans when it goes into sleep mode, hers did not. Is there anything in bios to change? Does not make sense why mine works and hers doesn't. Both running same version of windows10.

You ought to setup TeamViewer or Remote Desktop so you can work on it from your home. That's what I do with my family. Save a lot of trips and time.
