    Searching within a folder

My latest update has changed the way the search function works. Now after entering the data I want found I have to click a blue arrow as if to say "go". That's an improvement over the previous way of having to backspace to let the app know to search now.

However, now when I click the "x" to close the search it immediately opens a long list of previous searches that has to be closed before I can resume using the computer. That's a terrible way for that app to work. Is there a way to change that? To make clicking the "X" cease all activity in the search bar. Thanks.

    • Open the Settings app.
    • Go to Search > Permissions & History.
    • On the right, go to the History section.
    • Click on the link Clear device Search history.

I just tried that. I even turned off "let windows search store your search history" but I'm not seeing any difference in the way search works within a folder.
