Editing the File Explorer right-click menu?

I'm pretty sure that years ago (possibly on my previous PC under XP) I used to have a tool that would let me edit the FE context menu. But darned if I can find it now that I want to prune the long list I've accumulated. Can anyone point me to a safe and simple utility for this please?

Thanks, but the list displayed by Shexview.exe (after hiding the multitude of Microsoft entries), seems to contain many more entries than in my context menu.

Easy Context Menu (ECM) lets you add a variety of useful commands and tweaks to the Desktop, My Computer, Drives, File and Folder right-click context menus.

The problem is that you need to explain which entries you want to remove from which context menu.

You get a different right click context menu (with maybe similar entries but with differences too) when you right click on:

    A drive icon
A folder icon (varies depending on type of folder)
A file icon (varies according to file type)
Your desktop right click context menu.
Your desktop right click "new" context menu.

CCleaner FREE Is an option. You just right-click an item and disable it. If you ever wont it back, right-click it again and enable it.

"The problem is that you need to explain which entries you want to remove from which context menu."

My post was reasonably clear I think. I didn't specify any particular 'type' of entry because I want to be able to edit any entry. ("File Explorer right-click menu.")

Has anyone here actually used any of the tools recommended? I found none of them cut the mustard for me.

For example, many of the entries in this context menu did not appear in CCleaner or ECM or the Nirsoft tool:

And the reverse was also true, i.e. entries shown as being enabled did not appear in any actual context menu.

Another flaw of CCleaner is that it does not display the actual context menu entry text but shows the program or registry entry, making identification difficult. For instance 'STKContextMenu' refers to the lain english entry 'Send to Kindle', etc.

Perhaps the task is too complex and there is no "safe and simple utility for this".

A nice , clean contextmenu with only the items you want ............always a difficult problem , in Win10 for sure !
Sometimes items, you deleted , will come back after updates/upgrades...........

I don't know of any utility that shows all possible context menu entries in one GUI.

The tool you would use depends upon where the context menu entry is added. So I use a combination of tools.

Includes most file system objects, + Sendto.

Does not cover New or Open With.
