Disk shows less free space, than it is taken by large margin!!!

I use mirekusoft install monitor, for removing residue files, after uninstalling programs. I had no problem so far... But now, i was uninstalling a game. And it deleted whole folder - Games. Instead just one folder, in which game was located. And weirdest thing is: it didn't free any space. I have only 200GB free space on disk, as before. But it shows only 350GB on disk is taken and rest should be free from 953GB. So i am missing 400GB somewhere... I also tried to search for games, to make sure: whole folder wasn't just moved anywhere, even i don't know how... And nada... I even selected all folders and they have only 350GB, yet 758 is taken... Nothing in recycle bin... Why do i have always to get most ridiculous bugs... I guess this program is total garbage, it also uninstalls setups automatically... So this is already for reinstall...... I have backup, but only only clean windows, with couple settings. Because i don't have space, once i install everything, to make a backup... FML...

    a. frequently recommended uninstallers which launch the standard uninstaller then check for leftovers:
    Revo Uninstaller
    Geek uninstaller

I regularly use the latter. Both have free versions.

    b. To check what's using your disk space graphically:
frequently recommened: Wiztree (free) - cushion map; some like Treesize.

    c. To clean up C: see tutorial
Free Up Drive Space in Windows 10

Because i don't have space, once i install everything, to make a backup
Backups - best to external storage.

I used revo free, but it didn't have tools i needed. And even revo pro didn't had install monitor at that time! I might wanna check out revo pro, not sure whether or not it has trial tho...

So i found that 400GB missing, are in temporary files. But nothing in my temp. Any idea, whether or not it is possible to restore these files? It says in disk cleanup, under Temporary Files 374GB to be precise!

revo pro didn't had install monitor
Thank you for your reply. I have Revo Pro 3 - it does monitor installs. Were you looking in the right place?
You don't need to monitor installations in order to make use of these tools.

Looking at the site, and I had never heard of it before reading your post, I would not have installed it.
I see you have actually posted on the forum of
This program just deleted everything in folder...

Reading the forum, I am amazed to see so few posts, perhaps it indicates the low overall use of the software

I would recommend if you think you need such uninstallers to saty with the more tried and tested ones such as Revo and
CCleaner. There are many others of LONG standing

Reading about the program, it suggests that the app creates a means to go back
The uninstaller also has the option to use System Restore. It’s off by default but can be enabled in Options|Programs. This means before the cleanup process the Install Monitor will create a System Restore snapshot that can be used to go back if anything important is inadvertently removed.
IF YOU USED IT I would go back and then explore the apparent disk usage problem

I don't use restore points, as they require a lot of space and are deleted and replaced quickly anyways and i don't want to wear my ssd! And i had no problems so far, with that program.

Too late now, but I would strongly recommend you do use some means of being able to return to as is, before using any uninstaller - whichever it is.
The only exception I would include would be the standard uninstall from either the app - many provide their own uninstaller OR the Microsoft uninstaller.

These apps that purport to uninstall ALL including registry entries and all other fragments, do IMHO demand a means of restoring.

Registry backup is easy, but restore points are problem. They wear down ssd quickly and are quickly replaced, so they are useless. I had no problem with revo ever. So i think, this is more of program issue. It wouldn't even help, in this case 400GB, restore points are like up to 10 GB...

Anyway any idea how to restore these Temporary Files???

I am also thinking: i was on admin account, because i was installing something. And i had problems previously installing on normal account. Than i went to uninstall one game. But it wanted to restart to finish all changes, but than after restart, i have autologin to standard account. I don't know if it couldn't bug something...

Temporary is temporary. Rather the point.
There are plenty of file recovery programs around- but file recovery depends on the space used not having been overwritten meanwhile.

In general, if you had them when you last created a disk image, you could restore them from that.

I use restore points on my SSDs - and schedule one each day. (tutorial)
Disk shows less free space, than it is taken by large margin!!!-1.png

This PC was bought 2nd hand and I've had it about 3 years- it's about 7 years old. Same SSD.

So there is no other way? I don't use restore points on ssd, they wear it down quickly. Also they have like 10GB. This is 400GB we are talking about...

LMAO i found all files in: C:\Windows\Temp\MimPendingRenames\
