Windows 10 hangs on loading screen, repair media tool hangs too
I desperately need help with this one - my classes starts tomorrow and they are all online. I have a desktop with Windows 10 and it has been very very reliable for the last few years. I shut the machine down like normal and a little bit later I noticed it turned it self back on (Windows update occasionally will trigger it to turn on. The computer sat on a blue screen with the Windows logo and spinning dots for about 1 hour. Now I can't get past this. Every 3 restarts gives me a "preparing automatic repair" message on the same screen but nothing happens even after 3 hours of waiting.
-I have not installed any new software in months.
-My SSD is fine, I was able to plug it into a buddies computer via SATA to USB and recover my files
-I set BIOS to use legacy support instead of UEFI, also tried to turn off quick boot.
-I followed a few youtube videos that suggested things like using regback to restore my settings
-I created two different windows repair sticks on different size/brands of USB drives with the media tool and they both hang at the same screen and I can NOT get to the windows repair tools, command line, etc.
-I unplugged all peripherals and unnecessary hard drives and still got the same problem - even when it was just the USB stick
Pretty much I can't even install a fresh copy of Windows because I can't get past the windows loading screen even when using a USB stick.. I am at a total loss. I can't do a system repair or a system restore since it just hangs on the windows loading screen...
