pc crashes while gaming (due to ssd?)

    os number: 19041.450

    hello everyone,
my problem: my pc randomly freezes (usually while gaming) and then restarts itself. my idea would be that it has to do with my ssd. usually when i use cc cleaner and trim my ssd my pc doesnt crash. however, my ssd doesnt trim auotmatically and when checking if it wants optimalization, it sometimes want to be optimalized every few minutes. do you have any suggestions on how to fix this, or any other suggestion that could fix my crashing problem?

of course, it could be something else causing the crashes. however, after a crash my ssd always needs optimalization, most likely even before the crash but i cant check that 24/7.

already tried a soft windows redownload (saved settings and documents)

    thanks in advance.

    Hello @Xase

The optimization problem is a Windows problem, and probably unrelated to your crashes.
Your specs don't list which version of Win 10 you have, but ever since the May 2020 (version 2004) Feature Update, Optimization has been half broken.

When you click on Optimize, it DOES optimize, it just doesn't remember that it just ran. On system that never crashes, 2-3 minutes after an Opttimization is run, (if you check) it will say it needs Optimization again. It doesn't.

Until MS fixes this, it's best just to Optimize about once every 3-4 weeks.

As for the crashing, it could be caused by a number of things. Like... heat, the game or program you're running, Windows corruption, driver corruption, etc.

If you have been overclocking, I would set everything back to defaults, first, then probably re-install the vid card drivers, like so....

    DDU Instructions - Nvidia
    1. Get this program, here: Official Display Driver Uninstaller DDU Download ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
    2. Get your vid card driver here, use the Manual Search: Official GeForce Drivers | NVIDIA ...save this to your desktop.
    3. Reboot into Safe Mode and run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you.
    4. After it's done, reboot to normal mode, then just double click the Nvidia driver to install. If it want's to reboot, let it.

Read this and see if it helps,it is in the Tutorial section.
How to Enable or Disable TRIM Support for Solid State Drives (SSD) in Windows 10
Try to avoid using ccleaner if you can, nowadays they can cause more problems than they "solve"

    Hi thanks for your reply.
I have the feeling that this trimming might be related to the problem, since whenever i optimalize my ssd, it will usually work for the rest of the day if that makes any sense.

i havent yet tried to reinstall the nvidia drivers since it seems quite difficult to me and i thought maybe you got another idea when i tell you this.

    thanks for your time.

I have checked that, trimming should be working. i guess it is a windows problem as mentioned by someone else in this threat.
    thanks for your input!

Do you have a hardware monitor to track the temperatures?
My suggestion is open hardware monitor
It's a portable. Extract and run. You can configure what to show in the tray and gadget. Set to load with windows.
