Add or remove icons from arrowhead on taskbar

Sorry for the title, but I have 2 questions about this item:
Add or remove icons from arrowhead on taskbar-image.png
    1) What is that 1/2 triangle/arrowhead that I've drawn an arrow to called?
    2) How can you add or remove an icon that is on it?

I tried to look for a tutorial & also googled notification area & taskbar, but I couldn't find a name for this item. It's similar to the old Quick Launch.

    Thanks in advance.

    Does this help?

Hide or Show Notification Area Icons on Taskbar in Windows 10

I don't know what the arrow is called or how to change it's icon if that is what you are asking.

Turn On or Off System Icons on Taskbar in Windows 10

Some of those program icons could be removed by setting them not to run on startup.

Just a note to say that my preference is to always show all icons so that I can see what is running. Then there is no arrow.

You only get that arrow if you choose to hide one or more or all notification area icons.

If you wanted to remove Sandboxie icon you'd have to set it to not start with windows but it should reappear when you run it.

Callender: Just a note to say that the "excess icons" area above the taskbar is often referred to as the "notification overflow area", so perhaps that arrow icon is called the 'Notification Chevron Button/Icon' ?

Thank you for this. I had looked at those, but wasn't aware that by turning off the "show icons on taskbar" made them show up elsewhere. I think there's a few icons that weren't mentioned , but it gives me some ideas. i.e. if I don't have something running at startup, then it won't show up in the overflow area. And if I want something to show up there, I can add it to the startup folder.
