Can Indexing Options stop you from finding an application to uninstall

This post grew out of an issue of trying to see if there's a way to uninstall QTTabBar Sandboxie License Activation.

I have QTTAbBar version 1040 installed. Neither HiBit Uninstaller nor Wise Program Uninstaller nor Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features\Uninstall or Change a Program lists QTTabBar. I'm wondering what could cause this.

I don't know if indexing options or something else could cause this. I took at my indexing options, which are:
Can Indexing Options stop you from finding an application to uninstall-image.png Can Indexing Options stop you from finding an application to uninstall-image.png Can Indexing Options stop you from finding an application to uninstall-image.png

When I installed QTTabBar, I simply ran the executable from within the zip file. Any idea why uninstallers can't find this program? Should I uninstall by using Wise Uninstaller on the executable & then trying a reinstall?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, Qttabbar is an explorer add-on, and not a conventionally installed program.

If you consult its manual, you will find
Install & Uninstall - QTTabBar Manual

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for your response. I'm sorry, I should have added that I tried that also. It said to start to install a newer version (1041) & that there'd be an option to uninstall. However, when I tried that, there was no option to uninstall. This issue came up when I posted an issue about Sandboxie that I mentioned in my post. @Callender posted images that showed QTTabBar in all 3 of the ways that I tried.

I downloaded & installed Bulk Crap Uninstaller & that showed only this entry:

Can Indexing Options stop you from finding an application to uninstall-image.png so I'm still somewhat confused.

Hmm, this is what I see:
Can Indexing Options stop you from finding an application to uninstall-1.png

You might try a clean boot, then try again.

I finally saw an uninstall option on QTTabBar, but different than yours. Originally, I installed version 1038. Then I immediately updated to 1040, which is the version I have.

Now, if I click on the 1040 install.exe, then next, I see this:
Can Indexing Options stop you from finding an application to uninstall-image.png
So, it seems as if I didn't install version 1038, but I did. If I click on the 1038 install, I see a "Next" button, & clicking next brings up this:
Can Indexing Options stop you from finding an application to uninstall-image.png
If I click uninstall, it brings up this:

The newest one is version 1041 (which I may eventually install again, but I don't like the icons). When I installed version 1041, there was no option to just uninstall...I went through the procedure & it just installed. I used True Image's Try & Decide to undo all changes.

Maybe I should install 1038 again, but I'm not sure what messages it will bring up.

I got this when I installed/ uninstalled it.

    Sandboxie License Activation

The installer shows up as an .msi file.

    @phrab

    Also does this make sense?

    Uninstalling QT TabBar - QuizoApps

    1) Uncheck the QT Tab Desktop Tool on your toolbar, if it's set to show.
    2) Run the exe installer again, as if you wanted to install QT Tab Bar…an option to uninstall will then be available.

Thanks again for this. I seem to remember this, but still don't know why others can find it with various uninstallers or Windows own Programs & Features > Change or remove. I'll will try again after a reboot.

    Desktop Tool - QTTabBar Manual

For me it only shows up if added as a toolbar and then only with a double click on the taskbar.

I just reinstalled and it still shows up in all uninstallers including:
