    Issues with the emoji panel

I didn't know where to post this so if I posted in the wrong category I'm sorry. As the title says I have a problem with the emoji panel in Windows 10. The app opens fine, but I can't insert any emoji anywhere. Does anyone else have this issue? If so how did you fix it?

Emojis won't insert in Win 10

I have just found the same problem with win 10 2H 2020. I can open the emoji panel with the Win + . key combo but when I click on an emoji it just refuses to insert into Firefox or any other program like Word.

    Does anyone have a solution?

What happens if you 'go advanced' in the reply box here and enable the cursor then open the emoji picker and select an emoji?

I just tried it. The emojis panel opens up but it just won't insert the emoji into anything, not even the advanced reply window.

Do they work from the touch keyboard?

Open windows PowerShell (admin) and type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth then enter. Once run then run sfc /scannow to see if any issues fixed. Reboot.

I tried these commands in an administrator's Command prompt earlier but tried it through the Power Shell admin's prompt just now as you suggested. Neither one fixed the problem. I wonder why?

Looks as if it's borked somehow. Do they work from the OSK?

Then I'm stumped - seeing you've also tried restorehealth and sfc. Maybe someone else might have an idea.

I've just tried and can confirm that the emoji panel isn't working at all with the latest version of Windows, at least after the latest update. My "idea" is that the emoji panel is just broken as hell, until an update will fix it.
