    OK, that's an Intel i7-930 @ 2.80GHz
I had one of those. An HP HPE480t running Windows 7.
It was REALLY slow, and it really needed to have EVERYTHING replaced, so instead I bought a new desktop three years ago.

I suppose you could replace the hard drive with an SSD. That would boost performance.
But I think a ten-year-old computer is a bit past its usefulness. Are you sure you want (or need) to keep this box?
    Hi,
    10 years is nothing
Just woke up a 13 year old acer ax3800 and q9550 that came with vista
Threw a 150.us 980ti in it and free upgraded a win-7 pro license works just fine although forced to upgrade it to 2004 ilk so not using it much just on win-7 as a media center just as well win-7 scales way better to a 43" class t.v. than win-10

Wow. An I7-930, socket 1366. Triple channel RAM and all. Fairly high-end, 10 years ago.

I know of no reason why it wouldn't be OK. Intel driver support is no longer available, but Microsoft should have drivers.

I just updated to 2004 a week ago on our oldest computer.

    ASUS P5Q VM DO
NVIDIA GT-240 (Runs Directx 12, NVIDIA driver nov 16)
    Intel Core 2 Quad
    8GB RAM
    Windows 10 Pro
    500GB HDD Seagate

Starts a little bit slow (fast start is disabled) but works fine so far

I just noticed another small issue that came with 2004. Every single folder I open with File Explorer has the viewing order changed. All my folders were sorted by Name. Now they are showing things upside down, so I have to click on Name to get my previous order back.

I'm not sure, but I think the 2004 update has been through some "accommodation" process since its installation. For about five days, after boot and lock screen, the screen turned black and stayed so for several minutes before the desktop and the taskbar started to appear. Today this didn't happen, they appeared right after the lock screen.

Yesterday I deleted or moved dozens of shortcuts and image files I had kept on the desktop. Maybe this can explain something?
