    Windows shuts down repeatedly

I'm running Windows 10 Pro, build version 19041.450. And it keeps repeatedly shutting down spontaneously.

I've run various anti-virus and spyware programs. And system file check as administrator. Plus checked all driver updates.

I'm using the hot spot in my iPhone XS Max to connect to the internet. And run trouble shooter in Control Panel for internet and no problems found there or in any of the above.

Any suggestions short of reloading a Macrium Image would be appreciated.

Hi, is the shutdown 'graceful' as in taking the normal time, or sudden and abrupt?

Examine the event log: do you see this?

Read Shutdown Logs in Event Viewer in Windows

History: so often omitted by posters:
    - When did this start?
    - What happened or what change occurred before this started?

    Are you overclocking?
Is your PC overheating? (E.g. HWinfo)
In 2004 the task manager lets you view the GPU temp.

    - Shut down is blue screen saying an error occurred and saving files and shutting down
    - It's been going on for over a week
    - Not overclocking. Intel i7 965 CPU and Intel motherboard DX58So2 4 cores,8 threads, DDR3 RAM with 12288 MB memory.
    - Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GT520
    - Only changes were updates to Windows 10

will check out link for known and resolved issues.

If it's a BSOD, note the exact error message and post in the BSOD section using the log collector specified there.

I ran the Windows 10 repair CD and uninstalled the latest Quality Update, then reinstalled it..

The first time I tried it failed at about 75% installation. So I tried again, and the 2nd time it reloaded successfully from scratch.

And it's been running fine ever since.

Dalchina: Thanks for your efforts to help, much appreciated.

Update: Loaded an app called: Speccy and found the motherboard is running at 98 degrees Celsius.

And the CPU is around 50 degrees C on startup, but quickly rises to around 93 - 95 degrees C.

On further examination, turns out the mobo is defunct.

    Thanks everyone for the feedback.
