I foolishly gave some app permission to put notifications on my desktop, and I don't know how to get rid of them. They pop up from time to time, take up a lot of space at the lower RH corner of my screen, and can't be moved or closed. A small line of text says something about Opera, but they appear whether the Opera browser is opened or closed. How do I get rid of these ads? Runnin Version 1903, build 18362.959.
Found it and disabled notifications from Opera. Can't yet tell for sure if it worked or not, as these notifications come and go but are absent most of the time. We'll see. And many thanks!
The notification is an ad wanting you to install Total AV.
The line referring to Opera wants you to install an extension for Opera called Privacy Guardian.
I would recommend that you run some scans and do cleanup with AdwCleaner and MalwareBytes' FREE to be sure that you don't have malware, PUPs on your computer.
