keyboard override for default input method not working...

I have three language packs installed on my laptop, English UK, English US and Italian. My version of windows is in English, but I am living in Italy and so my laptop has an Italian keyboard. I sometimes use the English US keyboard for particular programmes, but otherwise only need the Italian keyboard.
Until recently, there were no problems, but for about a month now the keyboard language is automatically reset to English UK when I turn on my computer. I've gone into keyboard settings and chosen Italian to override the default input method, but the default keyboard language remains English UK. Does anyone know how to solve this?

This could be a problem sometime. In theory, everything should work fine, and for most of the time it is.

For start, remove US -EN keyboard.. You have one physical keyboard anyhow.

Did you check, which keyboard is the first under Language / Options?

    Thanks for your reply, AndreTen.

I have removed the English UK keyboard (as I wrote before, I need the US keyboard for certain programmes) and I have moved Italian to the top of the list, but the problem still exists.

Your settings are pretty much like mine, except, I have EN-US first under preferred languages.

Try to temporary remove EN-US keyboard, run like that for a time (restart computer) and then add it back.
i remember now, that I had the same problems a couple of months ago, also EN-UK language installed on its own. I have uninstalled that and also EN-US keyboard.

This is how my list on Taskbar looks like:

I've had the same issue. This does not sound logical, I know, but selecting a single option in Advanced keyboard settings resolved it for me:

There really is no logic in this, but after ticking that one selection box, my default keyboard has always remained as I'd prefer.
