    Error Source Control Manager Event ID 7000

    My Event View is flooded with these errors and I don't know why, and I don't even know what the service does.

    Error Source Control Manager Event ID 7000-image.png

    Code:
    - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event">- <System>
      <Provider Name="Service Control Manager" Guid="{555908d1-a6d7-4695-8e1e-26931d2012f4}" EventSourceName="Service Control Manager" />

      <EventID Qualifiers="49152">7000</EventID>

      <Version>0</Version>

      <Level>2</Level>

      <Task>0</Task>

      <Opcode>0</Opcode>

      <Keywords>0x8080000000000000</Keywords>

      <EventRecordID>39906</EventRecordID>

      <Correlation />

      <Execution ProcessID="816" ThreadID="5232" />

      <Channel>System</Channel>

      <Security />

      </System>

    - <EventData>
      <Data Name="param1">Browser</Data>

      <Data Name="param2">%%1053</Data>

      <Binary>420072006F0077007300650072000000</Binary>

      </EventData>

    </Event>
    It's coming from the "Browser" service, which seems like a very vague name. Anyone know what could cause this event to happen? I've tried running sfc and dism already. sfc didn't find anything wrong and dism restore health completed successfully.

    Hi, I have screen OCR'd part of your error message for you so it is text- and a search can be done.

    The Browser service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

    Considering event id 7000 - an article which is not specially helpful here:
    How to fix the service control manager event ID 7000 logon error in Windows

    Considering the second part of this and the event id offers some information:
    https://www.gfi.com/support/products...ause-a-service

    I wouldn't suggest changing this at this point.

    Considering 'browser service'
    Browser service - Wikipedia
    browse and locate shared resources
    in neighboring computers. This is done by aggregating the information in a single computer "Browse Master" (or "Master Browser"). All other computers contact this computer for information and display in the Network Neighborhood window.
    - so is related to local networking and sharing.

    Do you have networking and sharing configured?
    If so, is it functional? Or is something not accessible?

    No, I don't have any networking or shared configured. I did some research and learned that if you don't have other computers on the network--which I shouldn't--then the service can be disabled. So I just simply disabled the service. Will the service affect bluetooth at all?

    Thank you for your reply.

    Disabling services can lead to uncertain outcomes as they can be inter-related. You have to be sure of any consequences. Normally disabling services will gain you little- what were you hoping to gain?

    Could be your symptom relates to some change you have made to Windows features or services. Any feature update or in-place upgrade repair may be expected to return these to default.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/tr...-event-id-7000

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

    In the right pane, locate the ServicesPipeTimeout entry
    If the ServicesPipeTimeout entry does not exist, you must create it:

    Click the Edit menu or an empty space in the right pane, then click New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
    Type ServicesPipeTimeout, and then hit Enter
    Right-click ServicesPipeTimeout, and then click Modify to edit its Properties
    Select the radio button for Decimal under Base, then type 60000 under Value data
    Click OK and restart the computer(...or maybe restart Windows explorer)
