    Unwanted Context menu item

    Hello to everybody!
I would like some help with a Context menu item that I can't get rid of.

Since I tried an application (Master PDF Editor 5), the item ''Open with Master PDF Editor 5'' has been added to the Context menu. When I right click on a pdf file, I see this item right after Open. It's not big deal but it's quite annoying visually, since I don't use the app.
The application I tried, wasn't even installed, it was a portable version. Nonetheless, it apparently made some registry entries.
I run Regedit and I deleted everything relevant (and I reboot) but it's still there.
I also used ShellExView but I didn't find something that matches.

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance!

Have you found the following item via Regedit?

    Hi Matthew!

I don't remember the source of the portable version but this is the app.
I didn't find the exact item (Open with Master PDF Editor 5) but I found a couple of relevant registry entries (there was Master PDF Editor 5 in their name).

It does not provide a portable version.

Try using the following to clean your Registry: Latest CCleaner Version Released

Also have a look at the following:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.pdf\OpenWithList

    Hello Shakner,

You might see if you may be able to use the method in the tutorial below to remove the "Open with Master PDF Editor 5" program entry from the "Open with" context menu for pdf files.

    I removed two more entries.

    HKCR\Applications\Master PDFEditor.exe\shell\open
    HKCR\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.pdf\OpenWithList

The fisrt one was detected by CCleaner, the second one was find by me using the useful tutorial.
Unfortunately, after reboot, item is still there...

    - Nothing there
    - Two more removed manually
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Compatibility Assistant\Store
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache

    - CCleaner repaired all Registry issues

    ...but still there...

Can we assume that the item is not in Registry?
