    My old fast PC.

Can someone explain this to me. I have and old HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF, 4GB ram, 250 SSD and 1TB HHD. It goes like a train. I also have have PC with an AsUs motherboard, 16GB ram, 1TB SSD , 250 M2. I also have a Lenova E570, 8GB ram, 500GB SSD and 250GB M2. The HP seems a lot faster than the other two. Can't work it out, very strange.

    Processors?

Not that big differences between you H110 motherboard and HP 8300 - 3rd generation of Intel chips.

If you have I5 3570 or similar, very little difference to core i5 6400. If you have I7 in Elitedesk 8300, and I3 in new PC, it would still be much faster...

And your Elite 8300 has advanced motherboard chipset. Could still be very usable PC

I had Elitedesk 800 G1 - next generation from yours, it was very nice, capable PC. But motherboard bite the dust ..

The HP is amazing and have berated them in the past. All are dual booting with three versions of Linux distros.

So, which processors do you compare? And hopefully the same operating system..

i would not call them that amazing.. comparable to Dell and Lenovo offerings at similar price point. Or custom built (with the same class of parts - motherboard, processor and RAM).

I was only saying the HP was amazing, I only paid £90 for it and had a spare 250 SSD. Amazing to me. The CPU on the Lenovo can't be upgraded, but it's a great laptop. Nice to get a response from a guru, just like Linux gurus.

If all computers has Windows, run ExperienceIndexOK_x64 on all them to compare. (Extract and run. Don't need to install)

That 4 GB HP is kind of low RAM for Windows 10. I would not recommend running Windows 10 with just 4 GB of RAM.

There's lots of vagueness here --

    1. We don't know if all are running current OS
    2. We don't know processors
    3. "A lot faster"
    4. We don't know if the slower laptops have been compromised in the system or viral sense
