    SSD from Laptop to Desktop

    Hello,
so my question is how do I change all the registry keys when transferring a SSD from a laptop to a desktop. So recently built a computer to save the $110 it would cost me for a new operating system key I pulled the SSD out of my laptop and used it as the main drive on my new system. The problem is that windows still thinks its a laptop. I get notifications like battery not charging, from options in settings like what to do when lid is open or closed to my power setting and HDR settings aren't really setup correctly. How do I fix windows from thinking it's still plugged into my laptop? should I just do reset PC and keep all my personal files?? I really don't want to lose everything on the SSD, It's the PC I had been using for the last 10 years so everything is the way I want it, except this. Windows 10 1909 about to upgrade to 2004 or whatever the next build number is.

    Thank you

You either need to do a full disk image backup of the old drive, and restore it to the new drive

    - or -

Clone the old drive to the new drive.

Macrium Reflect Free has that capability.

If you just move the laptop drive to the desktop, someday you will find out that it is not activated.

If the laptop was upgraded from Win 7 or win8 or came with win10, the original license is a OEM type and it is not transferable to another computer.
You can only transfer a Retail license.
Win 10 insider license (license given to insiders back in 2015) sometimes is transferable using M$ account.
