Keyboard keeps changing from my default!

I installed windows 10 and set English (UK) as my main display languaje.

However, as I live in Spain, my keyboard is spanish.

I even use Spanish locale so my dates and currencies are displayed the way they are in spain.

Because I use Eng language, I am forced to have installed Eng keyboard, there's no way (that I know of) to get rid of it.

The result?: Sometimes my keyboard changes from Spanish to English for no apparent reason, and I find myself having to select the correct keyboard over and over again.

I can't find the reason why this happens but the issue has been there forever. It's irritating as hell because you never know when is it going to change.

It drives me nuts, it does not make sense to change keyboards like that: I can get a person using both english and chinese input methods, but who shifts hardware keyboard to a different locale one on the go?

Is there any way to force windows to use only one single keyboard?

This keeps happening since the first Windows 10 version.

    Hi: RedNano

I found this neat guide, I feel
like it's about the exact same thing
you are dealing with. Hopefully it'll help.

SOLVED: Windows 10 switches keyboard language on its own

    FYI: I fail at grammar.

Disable the keyboard shortcuts that have caused your problems by changing layouts inadvertently.

    Settings,
    Devices,
    Typing,
    Advanced keyboard settings,
    Input language hot keys,
    Advanced key settings tab,
    Change key sequence,
Set Switch input language to Not assigned,
Set Switch keyboard language to Not assigned,
    OK,
    OK.

But there is also the WinKey+Spacebar shortcut and I have never found a way of disabling that.

A method of redirecting this key combination using PowerToys is suggested in the 30th May post by Archimedes Trajano at Disable Win+Space keyboard-layout switch - Super User
    - There is a list of WinKey shortcuts in Keyboard shortcuts in Windows 10 - Windows Help
    - When I was considering this issue, it seemed to me that redirecting WinKey+Spacebar to
    WinKey+, {Desktop Peek}
was the least obtrusive alternative but a close second was
    WinKey+Ctrl+Shift+B {wake PC}
but this does flash the screen & sound a beep.

    This really helped.
I didn't reply earlier because I was testing the fix, but what mostly did it was this step:

    Right-click Start and select Run
    Type regedit and press enter
Find this key to disable auto detect keyboard layout: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]
    “IgnoreRemoteKeyboardLayout”=dword:00000001
To hide the language bar, use this key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\CTF\LangBar]
    “ShowStatus”=dword:00000003

The other ones that involve configuration via UI, I already tried them all.

After some days, I didn't have the mysterious keyboard switch even once!!!

Will report back if i do but so far, you helped me fix an issue I was having for a very long time.

    Much appreciated!!!!
