    Two things...

That link "he has also reported...." points to tomaseg1's post.

Here's my original report with screen grabs:

Known and Resolved issues for Windows 10 May 2020 Update version 2004

My second machine is a Dell laptop running an embedded Intel graphics chip with this driver:

    Intel(R) HD Graphics 520

And just to be sure we're talking about this path as seen in my Screen Grabs, not the right click menu. .

If so, then this problem seems specific to your Nvidia video. I can't reproduce it on my non-Nvidia system so I'm not going to be able to help much, I'm afraid..

I managed reproduce it but only randomly. driver version
27.21.14.5167 geforce gt 710 gaming driver July 5,2020

You should note that Nividia was rushed to produce a 2004 compatible drivers
for several cards . There may be a new one any day now.

So while going down the list of apps that have the 'More > Run administrator' and not seeing the issue, by the time I hit 'Firefox' and then Windows System > Cmd. I can not longer reproduce this issue..

I'm going to reboot and see what happens... BRB. ;o)

    -update-

Not there after the reboot. How odd..

let me check the Laptop... still there, even after a reboot.

Interesting. My machine is a Dell XPS 8930 desktop. I have done some digging in the nVidia forums and, while not this specific issue, problems between the nVidia driver and the Windows Start Menu are referenced quite often.

Yeah it's a weird one. It happened every time I tried and for a good dozen times in a row after seeing this thread and wanting to test it and then get some good screen shots.

Then on the very same XPS with it's nVidia card it just disappeared!

And yet it's faithfully showing up on the Intel Chip Laptop now every try with every 'More > Run as administrator' App.

I'll keep a eye on this machine to see if and when it reappears as well as on the Intel laptop for if and when it ever disappears.

    Well that didn't take long....

Apparently the Start Menu issue is appearing for me on both platforms consistently when the UAC level is 3 or 4, but not at 1 or 2

Thanks all.. presumably deserves a report well up-voted via the Feedback Hub app... and @Farvatten's finding might offer another workaround.

I've just tried to reproduce the issue on my 2004 19041.388 machine and so far, I don't see the issue. I've tried both right click and left click.

My graphics card is: 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (EVGA). I'm updating the driver now to see if that changes things.

Edit: Nothing changed; the start menu still disappears when I try to run anything from the start menu.

I have the same issue in v1909. The machine has an nVidia video card.
