    Boot drive help

    Hi all
    When i was installing windows 10 it installed correctly to my main ssd drive but my boot drive is on my secondary ssd drive and was wondering is there any way to change this without screwing up my windows 10 on my main drive so that my boot drive and windows 10 drive are on the same drive if that makes sense.

    You never install 10 with two drives or this happens. You can fix it but we need to know what type the disk is is udfi mgr got etc if you can post a screenshot from disk management showing all the details so we can advise you

    No, not at all strange. Windows can use whatever drives are connected to the motherboard. I once had 2 drives [couple years ago] and Windows picked up the BIOS entry of AHCI/RAID and set up as a RAID system, when I took the D: drive out it broke the booting process, cured by reinstalling on the only drive left in the system.

    Since you just installed Windows, Remove all drives but the Windows drive you are trying to use, and Reinstall Windows. Or
    If you don't want to do that then try a Repair Install

    When installing or upgrading Windows it's best to remove or detach other drives.

    Are you attempting to dual boot on one disk drive or something else?

    A Repair Install from a freshly downloaded Windows 10 ISO image from the Microsoft Page, will upgrade your Windows 10 you have had for years, to the latest version of 2004.

    When windows is installed it creates partitions based upon the BIOS settings.

    BIOS Legacy -----> MBR
    BIOS UEFI --------> GPT

    The partition for boot will be on the same disk drive.

    What problems are you having that you want to modify the boot?
