Windows 10 PC will not boot

When I started, PC was booting to blue screen. Tried Startup Repair and it said it couldn’t fix the problem. Did some research and ended up trying the “bootrec /fixmbr /fixboot” etc fixes but it said it couldn’t find any Windows installations. I was just trying the fix I found here where you delete the system partition and recreate it, but now it boots telling me HAL is missing. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, what is your Windows build as far as you recall? (The forum prompted you for this).

Please create and boot your PC from Kyhi's boot disk.
    You are being redirected...

Post a screenshot of your partitions using Minitool Partition Wizard.

When so booted you can determine your Windows build e.g. from properties of explorer.exe on your system disk.

Run HD Tune from that boot disk, and use Health and Error scan tabs to check your internal disk(s).

Run Macrium reflect from Kyhi's disk and use its Fix Boot utility.
Report the result with screenshots as appropriate.

Do you use disk imaging routinely as is so, so often recommended by this forum? E.g. using Macrium Reflect. This could help you recover without technical help. (Most people ignore this question, sadly).

What is your PC? Surface? laptop? desktop? tablet? No details.
Tutorials are available to help you fill in specs. Click 'My computers' under my post for comparison.

History: (so often omitted by posters)
    - when did this start?
    - what may have led to it? (update/upgrade/ installation/uninstallation/lightning/cat on keyboard..)
    - before this happened were you experiencing any problems?
... anything that might give a clue.

Error scan came back clean. Uploaded picture of partitions and explorer.exe properties. Boot menu shows two boot manager options

Did you try running Macrium Reflect and selecting the Fix Windows boot problems utility under the restore menu?

Sounds like you are looking at a clean install of Windows 10. Assuming you don't have a backup image to restore from.

What are the status of the important computer files?
    a) files backed up
    b) backup images
    c) no backed up files and no images > need to save files
    d) no important files

    1) boot to a windows 10 iso > command prompt
    2) type: notepad
    3) run these commands and copy and paste the results to notepad > save to a flash drive > move the flash drive to a working computer > upload results into the thread
    4) If a flash drive is unavailable then take pictures and upload images into this thread
    5) For any problems posting image please use share links: one drive, drop box, or google drive

Have you got your data backed up or do you need to get data off?

Reading back I see you got Kyhi's recovery disk. Will allow that copy.

Boot from Kyhi's tools disk, and run a disk check. Open a CMD window and type:
    chkdsk x: /f
Replace x by the drive letter. If necessary unmount the drive.

Next open a CMD window and type:
    sfc /scannow /offbootdir=x:\ /offwindir=x:\windows
Replace x by the drive letter.
