Should open shell work OK with Windows version 2004?
I have selected Windows 7 style as the preferred start menu.
Every time I restart PC, when I click on start, I see the normal Windows 10 start menu and not the open shell menu.
If Openshell is not totally compatible with Windows 2004 are there any reliable alternatives?
Hi, in task manager, do you see this running (Open shell)?
And if you search thus, do you see Open shell?
If so, what happens if you launch it from there?

Before I saw your response I thought it would do no harm to uninstall open-shell and then re-install it.
After I did that and then selected Windows 7 style as the preferred start menu, all seems to be OK.
I have shut down and restarted several times and all seems to be fine.
Can't tell from your post when you installed the 2004 feature upgrade, but ......
At the very end of the process, after the "Hi" stuff and your desktop comes up for the first time, there may have been a message saying "Open Shell needs to be Repaired". If you missed that or bypassed it and kept going, that could easily be the cause of it not starting with Windows, and you seeing the Windows Start Menu. You doing an uninstall/reinstall reset the same bits the Repair would have done, and now it works.
