About 2 weeks ago I deleted the contents of a fold on my PC then deleted the folder. My next reboot the folder came back ( the empty folder with the name I named it when created ) I've deleted it about 10 times and after each reboot it comes back. very strange, anyone know how to get rid of this folder that doesn't want to be deleted?
Assuming your User acct has administrator privileges...
1. Try to delete it in Safe Mode.
2. Try to enter Safe Mode and make sure you have "ownership", then delete it.
3. Try EMCO Unlock It... UnLock IT Free - Unlock a File or Folder Locked by the System
Where is the folder located?
What was the nature of its content- what type of files- any distinctive names of the files or folder?
Screenshot?
If you delete it and see it regenerated, are its properties completely identical?
(Make screenshots for yourself before you delete it so you can compare those with the regenerated folder).
Compare the dates and times shown by properties.
In particular what is the creation date and time (properties)?
I.e. is the folder being newly created on reboot, or is its creation time and date unchanged?
Try deleting it, then performing a clean boot (google if unsure how or see tutorial).
Does it reappear?
If you wish to delete it without using a 3rd party program (and I like Emco Unlockit) then you can boot to a command prompt and use that to navigate to it and delete it, avoiding any issues of Windows permissions and running programs.
Or you could boot from a live boot disk and delete it.
It's a empty folder shortcut on my desktop. I've deleted it and the folder location as well and on every boot it creates the same folder empty each time in both places. I've tried everything and even cmd commands didn't work. it's only a empty folder so I am not going to waste any more time on it. it just bugs me........lol

I'm fairly sure there was a similar thread a few weeks back about desktop shortcuts and deletion.
What happens if you try to rename it?
I had similar issues with overwolf. It creates two folders. It's deliberate and no matter how many times I deleted them they came back. Even though the features that use the folders were disabled in overwolf, the software still creates them. I contacted Overwolf, they acknowledged this issue but really didn't give a damn.
So, if it's definitely created at boot time you could create a login task to delete it.
You could simply add +S +H to the folder.
from a command prompt... attrib <foldername> +S +H
It will still exist, but it will be "super hidden" so you won't see it with explorer, even if you enable show hidden files and folders.(You can see it from a cmd prompt with dir /ah).
I know that doesn't stop the creation, but until you can track down what's causing it maybe these could be a workaround?
