My computer now wants me to get 1909. NO! NO MORE UPDATES!

I'll replace the computer when it breaks, or when it's too slow for comfort. That might be five years from now.
At that time, the "update" will be an OEM-installed Windows 11.

    I'll be skipping 1903.
    I'll be skipping 1909.
    I'll be skipping 2004.
    I'll be skipping 21xx.
    I'll be skipping 22xx.
    I'll be skipping 23xx.
    I'll be skipping 24xx.

And I'll be skipping all of the faults, failures, and frustrations that accompany them.

I just stay on the installed version until either it breaks or is no longer supported. Then I do a clean install of whatever the current version is.

Technically, not an update, but, Windows ME was the worst of all. The all time biggest fail from Redmond.

/e I haven't been keeping up on the earlier versions of Windows 10, but is MS still following their "every other OS suxxors" plan?

    Win 95 = sux
    Win 95 OSR = great
    Win 98 = sux
    Win 98 SE = great
    Win ME = sux
    Win XP = great
    Win Vista = sux
    Win 7 = great
    Win 8 = sux
    Win 8.1 = sux less
    Win 10 .......... ??

I just put the collar and muzzle on the MS DOG. I pretty much have it under control with no issues or problems. I have updates disabled till I see fit to enable it again. I`m at 1903 right now and I see not need to update and f!*& things up.

Oh no, I have to disagree. That place must surely belong to Microsoft Bob.

It's a long-standing tradition. Ever heard the saying "never install even-numbered versions of DOS" ?

Each of my computers has had the same issue. They are non responsive after waking from sleep.
I got four PCs in the house. They're all fine.

(To be fair two of them had very minor issues. Like changing my theme to light instead of dark. And app in Start Menu was kinda greyed out, had to be uninstalled, reinstalled. Very minor but yeah sloppy.)

Anyway -- I'm really never a fan of pointing a finger at the user and saying 'It's you!" -- but -- I'm wondering if you're doing on thing on all four PCs getting you in Dutch. I'm not saying you're doing something wrong but that you're doing something I am not. It could be as simple as using OneDrive, a virus checker that isn't Defender, or just one system setting on all four.

It just *feels* that way to me. So not user error as much as user coincidence.

    Sorry for annoyance.

Although I've been playing around with computers since before Microsoft... I seem to have missed Microsoft Bob. Either that or it was SO horrendous that my brain has just blocked it out entirely.
