Hi according to your screen shot you have no screen saver selected you have it as none so screensaver will not come on. Set it to blank

Are you using a specific Theme that uses a specific Pointer and Screensaver?
As for the screensaver/lock screen, set the power options to put your monitor to sleep after a certain time. By Default it is set to 10 minutes.

The "artifact" showing in your image occurs on a Notebook I have saved from the landfill and only on that one of the dozen I have on hand. It's a Dell XPS L701x 17". It has another display issue in a type of rolling effect but I don't know if they are related, the rolling is stopped by a tap on the side of the display panel, no other issue. It's too good a performer otherwise to simply destroy, hopefully it only a loose connection, may have to dig into it further.

For the mouse pointer issue, I don't have an answer, but maybe I can help a bit with the other issue...

Normally, the lock screen should timeout 60 seconds after the system is locked. Note that when this happens the screen will simply go black and you will NOT see the screen saver.

So you have a few options options. Begin by checking the the following registry entry:

Open the registry and navigate to this location:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\7516b95f-f776-4464-8c53-06167f40cc99\8EC4B3A5-6868-48c2-BE75-4F3044BE88A7

Check the "attributes" value. This should normally be set to 1. If not, and you want the default behavior where the lock screen goes dark after 1 minute, change this to 1.

Otherwise, change this value to 2.

With that value set to 2, you can now change the lockscreen timeout. This option does not show in the user interface until you change that registry value to a 2. To do so, open the Advanced settings of the Power Options Control panel app. A quick way to get there is to press Win + R, type in “control powercfg.cpl,,1,”, press ENTER.

Select Display > Console lock display off timeout
    Modify to your liking.

NOTE: By changing the lock screen timeout, you will now also be able to see any screen saver that you set.

Example: You make the above changes and set the lockscreen timeout to 1 hour. You also set the screen saver to run after 15 minutes. Now, the screen saver will begin 15 minutes after the system is locked. At the one hour mark the screen will go dark.

what you asked for was already that way, i set the screen saver option to blank as i had it on none. primary monitor continues to fall back to spot light... i like the picture but they never turn off when the computer is idle. any idea how to remove this?

That's all I have at the moment. If the registry setting is correct, then the default behavior should be that the screen blanks after one minute.

I'll look into it further and post back if I find anything else.
