Due to gross incompetence I unplugged my windows SSD while the pc was running and didn't realise it. I shut down the Pc and then restarted and got hit with the automatic repair loop. I checked the pc and discovered what I had done, ie the unplugging so plugged the drive back in and restarted and still hit with automatic repair screen. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Do the automatic repair.
Unless you have good backups, and have bootable media to access those backups... do the automatic repair.
It isn't working, the automatic repair that is.
This is an external USB SSD drive?
Do you have the Windows 10 installation media on a USB drive?
After selecting Repair this computer, select Troubleshoot, then Advanced Options.
In Advanced Options, select Start Command Prompt.
At the X: Command prompt, enter diskpart
At the diskpart command prompt, enter list volume
Check the drive letter for the volume Windows is installed on (may or may not be C:)
At the diskpart command prompt, enter exit. This will return to the X: Command prompt.
Then, run chkdsk C: /offlinescanandfix (or whatever the drive letter is from diskpart) from the Command prompt in the Repair environment.

Tks guys. I put in my macrium reflect boot media and it fixed the problem in seconds. The only issue is that each time the pc boots now it asks me to choose between 2 versions of Windows 10,one on volume 8 and one on volume 10. I choose the one I want, not sure what the other version is and it's fine. Can I stop it from giving me the choice?
From the Macrium Reflect bootable media... did you choose "fix boot problems" or did you restore from a backup image? I'm assuming you chose "fix boot problems", because you say it only took seconds to fix.
When IN Windows what does disk management tell you. Or just post a screenshot of disk management.
