    Windows 10 Booting issue

I have been having a re-occurring issue. When starting up my laptop it stalls/freezes before fully booting up. Its not a full freeze because I can hit the F keys to enter Bios or boot settings. At first i tried several things in there and it did not fix the issue. I had a friend tell me to fully unplug the battery to give it a hard reboot. That worked at first until 4 months later it started happening again, and this time frequently. The hard reboot only worked for that startup, the next one would stall. so I did some research and followed a possible fix through command prompt. Basically scanning files and repairing them. This also worked. I finally thought I came across the true fix be repairing some corrupt files. Wrong, Now 2 months later it started happening again. I have an Alienware R17 i7 windows 10 with a 1 Tb ssD and 2 Tb HHD. My windows operating system is on the SSD. I am really hoping that its not craping out, But its only about 3 years old and runs games ect. fine. Is there still corrupt files? Whats the best way to either isolate the problem or fix it? I'm not an expert in command prompt but can follow instructions. Thank you for any help or input.

    Hi, two simple initial ideas:

    a. Download install and run Hard Disk Sentinel (SSDs too) - this gives a great indication right on its GUI.
    Check each of your disks.
If any are shown as problematic, post a screenshot thus:

    b. Disconnect/remove your two HDDs
Check if there is any change in the boot process.

What is your Windows build? The forum prompted you for this so we don't have to keep asking.

    I have been having a re-occurring issue.
History: (so often omitted by posters)
    - what might have triggered your recurring problem?
    - do you know of any change that led to this?
    - was it a feature update (upgrade)?

I will start working on option A for option B I have one HHD and one SSD, The SSD has my operating system. I have the most current windows 10.
It happens out of no where. Something i think my be the cause is about 1 year ago I deleted my Op sys or boot drive in command prompt, I was trying to learn and followed a tutorial that i guess was a sabotage tutorial. My laptop was not booting up at all. So i took it to a repair shop and they had to get an operating system on a laptop that wouldn't even boot. I have no idea how that is done but I feel its possible that's where this is coming from. It was fine for 5 to 6 months before i first experienced this issue.

Thanks, proceed with above - I realise I misread the disk info in quickly scanning it hence thought you had 2 HDDs.

If that works out ok- probably will- then also run
    chkdsk c: /scan
    from an admin command prompt.

If ok, disable Fast Startup and try rebooting and report the result.

We'll see where to go from there.

Good- remember to check your HDD with HDS as well. Proceed with the rest with just your SSD in.

As I understood, it is freezing before it loads windows, just after POST.

Is the battery healthy? Does it hold charge?
Is it running Win 10 ver 2004?
