The menu bar stopped working after I updated the Windows 10 today.
It was working in the past few days (since I upgraded from Windows 7) but after I rebooted the system when I click on the menu icon it does not open.
I tried to restore the system before the update date but it does not help.

This has happened to me several times in the last week. There are 'solutions' you can google involving powershell scripts to reinstall the windows store apps. I never found them to solve the problem. IME, user profile corruption has been the culprit. I would suggest creating a new user, sign in, and see if the start menu is working for that new user. If it is, then probably your other users profile are corrupted.
I know what you mean. Tired of doing this again and again. If you made a system image previously, restoring has worked for me (with some hiccups). I've seen some reports that a System Restore Point can save your profiles (haven't tired it myself). Of course, for some reason, Win10 comes out of the box with System Restore disabled. You can also export bookmarks and many apps allow for exporting users settings. That helps but it is still a real PITA to keep rebuilding your profiles. Word of advice: Don't perform any routine system maintenance (registry cleaning, removing unused files, etc.) activities. Every time I have, Win10 gets F'up.
