Windows 10 Search Indexing does not search my Start Menu Programs

    I completely switched off indexing .......dont need it , extremely bad for SSD-life also !

    Does searching your Settings work?

    extremely bad for SSD-life also !
    - please explain? Once indexed, no effect until changes are made.

    Then searches use the database where indexed files are being searched, rather than literally reading the file structure (or why does non-indexed search take so long?) - and that saves disk accesses.

    Naturally you're free to do that and use some other tool- I use a 3rd party tool as well.

    But I don't feel this discussion is relevant to the original question.

    " no effect until changes are made ".........changes are made often , this means lots of writing to SSD ..........indexing wears out your SSD , just better to switch it off ....
