    how to stop windows 10 from deleting memory dump files


    i just got a bsod. memory dump files were generated but they were deleted automatically after 5 minutes

    storage sense is off. i dont have low disk space and the option delete memory dump file on low disk space is disabled

    i found How To Disable Automatic Deletion Of Memory Dumps On Low Disk Space. method 2 says to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl in regedit and change the value of AlwaysKeepMemoryDump from 0 to 1. i dont have AlwaysKeepMemoryDump in my registry. can i create dword for AlwaysKeepMemoryDump and set value to 1? will it work and is it safe to do that?

    Sure, won't be a problem. I just did it on my system. Has to be a DWORD 32 bit value.
