    Hi

If the release date is early in 2015 as rumored I'd expect the beta to start this summer, in the fall at the latest.

Since we don't hear anything about it, it makes me think that the release is going to be later then early next year.

As I remember both Windows 7 and Windows 8 betas started close to a year before release.

I would think that they would be very careful with Windows 9 after the resistance they have had with Windows 8, and want to get as much feedback as possible.

One the other hand this is Microsoft.

It's possible they hurried, and got their touch capable/mobile OS out (8). But they will take more time on 9 knowing what people didn't like about 8, and knowing they already have a mobile/phone OS out there. A Guy

I was told by a rep on the phone sorting out my Windows 8.1 with media centre authorisation issues that Windows Nine was still a year away from release. I suspect it won't be April 2015 but more likely Sept or October 2015 for the Christmas rush. The things always slip. MS will keep updating 8,8.1 and 8.x until they execute it once the new Nine is released. I'll bet you'll never see an OS (8 etc.)go away so fast. Expect some pretty good deals to get people to move from older MS O.S. Will they forget about XP users or build them in as an upgrade path? Frankly if I was MS I would forget about them, they had 13 years of good use and it is time to draw the line in the sand.
