The Search area to the lett has tiny font

This is my issue. The Search area to the let has tiny font. How do I enlarge it? The Notification area on the right was like that, then went back normal while I was searching for a solution. It was then that I discovered the Search area. What is the fix? HELP!

Boot into safe mode and see if the problem is still there

It took care of itself, so you know it may happen again. I've had some other weird stuff going on though, and I'm about to attribute it to the GPU I just installed. Something is going on with sizing all over the place. I gotta keep at it.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

Followed steps you outlined, and now, half of the icons on my desktop are tiny. So, obviously, that wasn't the issue. In fact, I had installed the latest software when I installed the GPU last Friday. I went through the Auto Update thing again today. But the only difference is that the icons shrunk.

Sorry, had a brain fart, and forgot to tell you, I wasn't sure that I restarted after the install. So, I restarted it and VOILA! everything is back to normal. I usually restart after everything I do, but for some reason (brain fart) I guess I forgot to restart this time. Sorry.

At this point, I told myself totally responsible. Like I said, I usually restart after even the slightest change that I make to my system. I guess I'm getting old, and tired.
