Occasional PC freeze

Nominating a "good" brand these days is difficult. The country of manufacture dictates quality.
Don't forget as components age,their efficiency declines and the nominated capacity has a sales hype addition.The "experts" calculate power consumption as quoted,plus 50%.
Motherboards now have numerous usb ports,none of which have rated power consumption and all of them use power to varying degrees which should be considered.
Hardware problems can be a proverbial pain---forgot to ask, don't forget the monitor and leads.

Thought I'd update this.

Having removed Kaspersky, changed the CMOS battery, I was still getting freezes, sometimes during BIOS, sometimes during OS loading, sometimes after 15-30 minutes running.

On 10th July I removed and reinserted the memory DIMMs, swapped the matched pairs over, i.e. A&B from sockets 1&2 to sockets 3&4, C&D from sockets 3&4 to sockets 1&2.

Nothing else OS or H/W changed.

Since then it has all behaved impeccably. So I'm guessing it just needed the DIMM connections re-seating or "wiping" by remove and replace.

Yep, I was a bit slow recognising that the RAM could create the paging fault reported rather than the drive.
