Neat if it works but it looks like it applies only to images (jpg/gif/png, etc.) He wants to pull data from a Properties window so some kind of OCR looks like the only way to do this. What dalchina posted looks like a real possibility.

I don't want to be rude, but where is the OP?? It would be nice to see input from He or Her. As for the program I posted you would think that if it Extracts Metadata it wouldn't be limited to images only. Metadata means "Data About Data". So Images, JPG, JPEG, GIF, and the like. File formats, PDF, TXT, DOC, DOCX, EXE, and so on. I think you get my drift. Maybe tomorrow I'll get and run it for a test to see if it extracts other file information other then images.

Actually I posted that simply as a literal reading of the request to show how awkward and inappropriate that would be...

Something like my first suggestion would offer reliable output.

    Agreed... best await a response...

    OP Present

First. Thanks for the comments and discussion. Next. Is "OP" an abbreviation for "Old Person"? That fits!

I have been following the responses.

Given my rudimentary knowledge and skill the comments are a bit over my head right now

II tried to install the app but stalled on a Windows blockage that stated it is not in the Windows 10 app list. I am experiencing the same problem with other apps, so next I need to sort out how to bypass that obstacle. I hope to do that today.

    - fits more than you might think... actually used for 'Original Poster' -at least that's what I think it is, and fits how it's used.

    Updates

I have the Jamsofter tool running.

At a first view the video seems clear, but I did not try to follow it for other restraints. "Export detailed metadata from Windows Explorer to Excel Spreadsheet". He also presents a nice list of options in the "See More" section.

I found the manual in the Download file, but could not get much from it. Could be my monitor setup? I run at 175% in Portrait and sometimes loose info at the edges.

The Jamsoft documentation is quite murky for me.

I will have a go at this in the next day or two.

    Thanks for your guidance.

You could try this one (GUI with preview)
    FilelistCreator

Screenshot shows it exports to xlsx

    Donationware I think.

There will be numerous such tools if you look around..

I find the chm file for the Jam program has a blank right pane - old format?

    FilelistCreator

I think this one will do the job.

    FilelistCreator

    FilelistCreator

Seems easy to use with a broad range of attributes.

Thanks to all for your help and support.
