Press Enter repeatedly after rebooting, when a message appear at the bottom of the screen.

If it does not work, check the UEFI Setup, the option may be disabled.

To boot from a boot medium, press F12.

Check the documentation for more information.

Ok, I'm in the ThinkPad Setup. Where would I find the Boot Menu ?

Under "MAIN" it says UEFI Secure Boot "ON"

    thank you

Did you press F1 at power on to get into the setup? Try F12 instead, that brings up the boot menu on my Thinkpad T420. NB: if you want to boot from a usb, plug it in before powering up.

I've been told to tap F1 repeatedly at the Red Lenovo sign at start up but it does not work. F12 does not either.

I will try the USB at start up as you said but I'd like to also get to the Boot menu just in case

In the bios setup on mine there is a 'Boot device List F12 Option' in the 'Startup' section that says 'Enabled'. Check yours and if necessary enable it.

In the "Think Pad Setup" window, under the "StartUp" menu, there is a "Boot device List f12 Option" listed as "Enabled"

    Now it this it ?

At start up I can only get into this section by hitting Enter at start up.

Sidebar message states: "F12 key is used to invoke a pop-up Boot device List. This option is only available when supervisor enters setup. "

So what am I looking at ?

F12 would appear to bring up a boot menu showing multiple choices.

    Does it or doesn't it?

I browsed the documentation. It says use F1 to enter the UEFI Setup, F12 to boot from a boot medium (USB).

Apparently, the Enter key to enter the "Startup Interrupt Menu" does not work in this computer.

So now the F12 does bring up the Boot Menu up at start up. It did n't do this before.

    Thanks all
