I successfully booted into Safe Mode, but I forgot my password so I couldn't get any further (I log in with PIN usually).

Right now, I'm making a System Image of my Windows 10 installation and I'm also making Macrium image of my C windows partition (just the 931 GB one, none of the other ones). I'm going to try and reinstall windows after the backups are done.

Please ensure you make and test Macrium Rescue (boot) media. By test I mean boot with it and be sure you can navigate to Image you created.

Yes I am able to used a Macrium Rescue boot media (and it for some reason it fails I can always create a new bootable USB on a different Windows PC). The Macrium image I made was only of the main partition with all my files on it, will I still be able to restore this partition when I reinstall windows, do you know?

You should be able to restore. I've restored just the c: drive.

Not sure you want to do this if it was causing issue.

You could Image the entire machine after you clean install, try your experiment and if it all heads south then restore.

I didn't read all the way back as to what issue is. I mentioned the rescue media as some make an image and skip this step only to find they need after the fact.
