only one item under windows system, no Control Panel, no Run, etc.

When I click on Start/Windows System, there is only one item under it, the Task Manager, while numerous pictures found on the net show that there should be other items such as Command Prompt, File Explorer, Run, This PC, Windows Administrative Tools. These are not on my system. Mine has only one item, the Task Manager.
I ran "sfc /scannow". It reported no problem. Is there any way to restore those shortcuts? I'm running Window 10 1909 build 18363.900.

The folder System Tools doesn't exist in either folder. Now, I wonder where my Task Manager shortcut comes from. I also checked the corresponding folder of another user, thinking maybe I could copy the shortcuts from the other user. Well, System tools isn't there either. I guess my problem is down to how to create the folder and copy shortcuts to it.

There's also the right-click on Start, also known by its keyboard shortcut, the Win+X menu.

Thanks. I think there are many things wrong with my Windows 10. Win+X key combination does nothing, so is right-clicking on Start. The only way to shut off my computer gracefully is hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del and clicking at the power icon to select "Shut down". I'll study the links you provided. Thanks again.

You have already said you have tried sfc /scannow to no effect, so it seems likely that DISM's RestoreHealth option may also be of no use. An in-place repair upgrade using the ISO for 1909 may be your only help.

To get an ISO for 1909 now that 2004 is is the current release, your only options are Option Five or Option Six in this tutorial.

HDTune reported one bad sector. Health status are all OK. Chkdsk /scan reported no problems.

I have been thinking of doing that for a while but there is something I need to do first before doing that because I have never done that before and don't know what will happen if I do that. I should be able to do that in three weeks.
