    Use Windows Update Troubleshooter.

    • Right-click on Start button and pick Settings
    • Go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot
    • Click on Windows Update and select Run the troubleshooter

    Download Windows updates manually.

    • Go to the official Microsoft update catalog;
    • Enter a specific update code, for example, KB4481031
    • Select the correct version and click Download
    • Click on the link and Windows will update your computer

    Resetting the Windows Update components can usually solve these types of issues.

    Dear All,

    Thank you for helping me out. I have tried your method but not working. Windows update is trying to update the driver version which is already installed. Windows update cannot identify the same driver already installed and keep giving error. Manually downloaded version also cannot work giving the same error. How else can I resolves the issue. Thank you

    You can use this MS tool to show & hide problematic drivers or updates: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930.You can also try the windows update minitool to block the update permanently: Download Windows Update MiniTool - MajorGeeks

    Not Working

    Dear All,

    Windows update has already installed the driver but unable to detect it. I tried multiple times to run the process of deleting and reinstalling but Windows update still unable to detect the installed driver keep giving error encountered. It works well on the first installation when I deleted the driver but then when I run the Windows Update again, it will repeat the installation second time because of not able to detect driver already installed. The program "MS Tool" cannot detect it is a problem because driver already installed but Windows Update see it otherwise. Please Help Thank You

    Sometimes computers have proprietary graphics drivers which are customised by the manufacturer and Windows generic drivers are incompatible. My DELL laptop has "Intel UHD Graphics 620" and I can only use "DELL Support Assistant" to update the graphics drivers. Does your computer have a "Support Assistant" tool that you can try?

    If you don't want one specific driver update see:

    If it’s already installed the driver then you’d have to roll said driver back & then block it.
