    Regedit.exe

    Hi guys,

Happy to be here writing my first thread.

Still using the updated 1909 Win10 version. V.2004 will have to wait a bit more.

    This is my problem:
I don't like the defaul "white" of the windows. Too agressive to my eyes.
I use instead a yellow similar to the one used on legal pads.

    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors (RGB 255,255,200)

What pisses me off is that when the system suspends/hybernates for any reason, the dreaded "white" window returns, as the system is activated back again.

What can I do to end this annoying and reccurent problem, instead of re-starting Windows several times a day?

Any given help will be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Flowers

I saw this tutorial that may help Change Window Background Color in Windows 10

You could always try the action centre NIGHT LIGHT to tone down the brightness

You can set any colour you want or select a free theme no need to mess with regedit

Either save the theme with the changed background colour and reapply the theme after resuming using a scheduled task as I do (a bit tricky to set up), or see if you can find a thread where someone posted a solution for that - perhaps a couple of years back.

@KeithM - that's a widely and long documented mod to set background colours for a number of default Windows progs but not file explorer.

    Example:background colour:

I understand exactly what the OP is experiencing and worked out a workaround in Win 8 which I use now and have documented elsewhere on tenforums.

I understand the OP as well. I'm curious about Samuria's assertion. I'm allergic to flip, unsubstantiated, claims.

Nothing in settings changes the background color of a window (other than high contrast). I think you mis-read the OP's post.

    That's completely untrue.

May I suggest this (and it's free) - undo your registry changes first and don't experiment unless you *know* what you are doing. Critical point!

Downloads / Software / Winaero Tweaker

It's great. Or use a theme.
