    Can I have a clean Taskbar Search Box?


    Is there a way to clear "In the News" feeds and the Microsoft Edge advertisements from my Taskbar Search box?

    On another PC I just get a nice, empty grey box. That's what I want.
    PS: I tried the "floating" search bar - didn't like it.

    1. Open the Settings app.
    2. Go to Personalization -> Start.
    3. Turn off the option called Occasionally show suggestions in Start.

    Thanks for the suggestion FreeBooter.
    That setting is off on this machine, and yet the 'In The News' is still there.
    I've fished around in a lot of settings trying to see where I can turn this off!

    It might be the Task View history it's picking up.
