PC freezes when navigating to any drive or folder

- perhaps because it couldn't call home in Safe Mode?

You say you see the freezes after some time. I suggest you leave the PC overnight in Safe Mode and then see if you experience any.

If you can reach a point where it doesn't happen, you may have a starting point.

This is, I think, an older PC, so anything is possible. I did ask why you were still on an older build of Win 10- any particular reason?

You could try this:
Enable and Disable Driver Verifier in Windows 10

Then there are hardware stress tests such as Prime 95.

To attend to the Microsoft Office error code 0x426-0x0, I ran sfc /scannow and received "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." message when the scan completed after about an hour. Next, I manually ran the Office update and it said that I have the latest updates.

Meanwhile, I continue to receive the "DllHost (10308dal,G,98) The beta feature EseDiskFlushConsistency is enabled in ESENT due to the beta site mode settings 0x800000." error in the Windows Event Viewer every time there is a computer freeze.

I have not yet run the driver stress test or hardware stress tests considering the length of time they need. Or I may I get to replacing the PC which has served me well for so many years but now may have had its toll of wears and tears.
