Restoring good text

Hi, I have a screen capture program called Kleptomania (by Structurise software). When you select an area of text it copies it to the clipboard. Normally the text changes to a rougher, thin-like appearance and reverts back to normal when you're finished. However Kleptomainia crashed and had now kept this rough look, even after rebooting Windows 10. It isn't on all text but most, like in Notepad or caption under icons on the Desktop and on the Net (text in this Forum)
Anyway had this and/or know how to fix it ?

Has your default system font somehow been affected?

Do you have a System Restore point you could use?

And have you adopted the oh so frequently recommendation to use disk imaging routinely and regularly? If so, you can restore your system from a previously created image.

As to the problem caused by that software, you might wish to contact the company responsible. I've not heard of that program before, nor the effect you describe.

Hi Dalchina, I found a solution via Google. Seems it turns OFF clear type and setting that up again fixed everything. I did think of a system restore but as a last resort.
Does Capture2Text do the same with Clear type? Can it grab a Graphics area? I bought Kleptomania but it was better on XP. Sadly they're not much good with support either.

Glad you found a way forward. If you see image-based text - even at an angle I've found- Capture2text will let you draw rectangle to select it and then produces a popup box with the OCR'd text.

It's not a general screen capture tool - just OCR's text you can't copy.
There are plenty of free image-based screen capture tools.
