    Problem with boot up menu

The boot up config as per MSConfig is set to selective, which is I think why I am not seeing the boot option screen, when I change it to normal boot, I get an error screen at the next boot.....I assume something is wrong with the msconfig setup, or boot options, need some help please.

i tried the windows repair but that failed.....

    Hi, try these from Google

You can also try searching tenforums for solved threads based on your error message

    Recovery Error code
0xc000000e, Your PC needs to be repaired
indicates a hardware failure or an incorrect drive configuration, and may be accompanied by different error messages like:
A required device isn’t connected or cannot be accessed

Fix error 0xc000000e, Your PC needs to be repaired, on Windows 10

See if there's something there that helps- this is a well-known type of error.
Post back with what you've tried.

Hope you've been using disk imaging routinely.

Thanks I will defo look at these, but everything ok until I choose normal start up in msconfig, then I get the blue screen, I have boot options for Safe mode, Command prompt and one for Macrium reflect, but don’t see these with selective startup....could this all be fixed using bc edit to remove them and rebuild them again, just a thought
and yes I have MR scheduled backups every day, to a dedicated 2TB HDD, wouldn’t be without it

Perhaps you can assess what the actual changes are between selective and normal - see if you can see that in Autoruns (free from MS), perhaps.

Try a boot repair from Macrium's recovery medium.

Never tried this before, will have a look...could this still be a solution given what I mention below ?

But my PC boots up perfectly wakes from hibernation etc. But if I change the boot option to normal from selective in MSConfig, I get the blue screen with the recovery message......can only assume it’s an issue with MsConfig..........Have a bunch of CMD options to try later, when the work I am currently doing has finished...

    fingers crossed..

If I change to normal startup in MSConfig and click apply.....then run EasyBCD, the entries are there...but if I choose selective startup in MSConfig the there is only the Windows 10 entry in EasyBCD

If you multiboot then selective boot is normal. Check msconfig and under the boot tab that timeout is set to 10 or so seconds. It might have reverted to zero.
Free version of Macrium allows for boot repair. Use Macrium Reflect Rescue Media to Fix Windows Boot Issues

When I restart with selective startup enabled I Dont see the options safe boot etc, if I chose normal startup, then the safeboot etc are there......EasyBCD doesn’t see the other boot entries, unless I choose normal startup in MSConfig......

just shutdown the PC completely, usually use hibernate, but restarted perfectly, except without the boot options. UPDATE used EasyBCD and removed all boot entries except Windows 10 restarted and got the blue screen again

very confusing, need to know what I should do.....do I remove all the boot options, safe mode etc. And add them again, run all the CMD options as listed previously....or try an in place repair upgrade.....although windows wouldn’t activate last time I did that, so very wary....help please Is there an event log that would show why I am getting a blue screen after changing MSConfig boot option to normal startup or removing the startup entries .....???

    UODATE
    tried all bootrec commands

but rebuildbcd gives the error “the requested system device cannot be found”
