Problem with boot up menu

So can’t use BootrecRebuildBCD, anyone have any ideas of a solution ?
PC runs perfectly, just don’t get the startup options I created...is there a registry or group policy change I can make to reset the boot options or MSConfig ?
sometimes feel like giving up, especially after using Easy recovery essentials. The main display looked very unprofessional, I don’t suppose bells amd whistles are needed, but it listed all hard drives, apart from a Capacity GB figure There was no way of identifying them, only two had GB less than 900GB, a 30GB and a 90GB, neither of which matched my boot SSD of 230GB, selecting either of these received the message no OS in selected partition...so couldn’t proceed with any repair.....waste of time....but worse than that when I rebooted, the PC just kept cycling through the POST screen again and again.....I reset the bios entries, just in case, but then received No OS found ? So I once again restored a MR image, made only this morning....but the destination drive showed local drive, and no partitions.....what could ERE have done ? As I didn’t chose any repair options......

goung to once again try in place windows repair upgrade.....have saved the Start menu ( thanks to a 10Forum post ) as this usually gets messed up by a repair upgrade....also last time it didn’t activate, but if the boot menu is ok I will just be patient amd hope it activates eventually......don’t know what else to do......hoped Bootrec would be the solution....

I'm totally lost after reading all this again. What boot options are you talking about. Can you provide a picture or image of what you expect to see?
I see you trying a lot of things but I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish.

As you may be aware from my other posts, I am having issues with MSCONFIG Startup options, everytime I change anything, particularly to Normal startup to get my startuop options i get tthe blue recovery screen.....so hoping that this will reset the boot options in msconfig, if indeed it does, will leave for a few weeks before adding them back with BCEDIT.....also last time i did a repair upgrade it refised to activate, again will give it plenty of time to achieve this...any thoughts ???

Ok. Yes it’s been a bit of a helter skelter ride.....
The PC boots up perfectly, my only concern is that previously when I started up, I was presented with, options, which I created using BCEDIT....I had normal windows 10, safe mode, safe mode with networking & command prompt. Recently added Macrium reflect boot option. However recently, I don’t get this screen anymore, it simply goes to the Windows screen with user the sign in option.

hopefully that’s clear. I have looked at MSConfig and the startup options is set to selective, when I look at the Boot tab it doesn’t show the various startup options, however if I chose Normal start up & click apply, the options then appear on the boot tab. BUT & this is the problem, if I then restart my PC left in this way, I get the Recovery blue screen, if however I revert the settings back to selective, and click apply, the PC continues to reboot ok.

in a nutshell, I just want to get my startup options screen back when I boot.

i tried EasyBCD to delete the startup options, but again got the blue recovery screen on reboot.

i have tried Bootrec, but at the repair step it gave me an error message....I am currently, doing an in place repair upgrade, hoping it will reset anything that is corrupt within the MSConfig files.....& allow me to again add my startup entries....

if this is not clear enough, then tomorrow, I will add some images......

UPDATE Even the in place repair upgrade failed, said there had been an error and things were reverted back to how they were....OMG.....will try again tomorrow, no idea what could make that fail ....

A clean install is always the last resort, but not ready for that yet, that’s not a good solution

So,e good news, Windows did some updating last night, seemed like a big one......the MSConfig boot options cleared ? and the PC rebooted from shutdown, so that’s good.....I think the in place repair upgrade failed because of the pending updates.....but holding off on a repair install, as the problems seem to have cleared....I managed to add safe mode safe mode with networking and safe mode with command prompt using BCEdit.....and rebooted with these options.....very optimistic....only thing is, the startup boot screen looks different, looks more like a CMD prompt window, maybe changes have been made....

You are not going to get that in Normal boot mode, leave it in Selective. Here is an older thread which explains some of it: Normal Start Up OR Selective Start Up

Glad I made myself clear, has been an experience....wonder why I am getting the boot. Manager display as above and not one similar to below

In msonfig, make sure No GUI boot is not checked.

Thanks, already thought of that, but it’s not ticked, if it was ticked, is that the screen I would see ?

That's the screen you see when you select the boot tab, whether it's ticked or not.

The link I provided says if any startup item is disabled you will get the Selective startup on the General tab, no matter what.
