New Path editor gone after variable delete

I was happy to use new PATH editor:

Windows 10 finally adds a new Path editor

but I noticed, if you delete PATH variable, and create it again, the new editor is gone and replaced with old editor. Is it possible to restore new editor?

I can only give you a starter for 10: here's what it is:

    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe" sysdm.cpI,EditEnvironmentVariables

Unfortunately EditEnvironmentVariables e.g. is not in the registry. I'd guess there is something there, but don't know where to look or what to look for.

If you have an appropriate System Restore point you may be able to use that.

Should you not be able to restore it there are alternatives:

What's wrong with Start --> Control Panel --> System --> Advanced System Settings --> Environment Variables, then using whichever of the two edit buttons is appropriate?

    Just a thought...
